So funny, but I can pretty much promise you it won't lead to shopping in lounge-wear and pork rinds/Tab dinners. It (or something like it) happens to all moms at some point. In fact, due to similar moments, I have stopped shopping with my kids unless I cannot avoid it. We've got 24 hour grocery stores and I go after the angel monkeys are asleep.

I've been feeling sad about having nothing for Nie-Nie too. Just prayers and a date with some balloons.

Ditto to Danielle's "take a nap."

Oh Em! I am dying laughing. Seriously. I thought stuff like that only happened in the movies. At least he was going #1 and not letter "b" behind the bushes. Are you OK??
You can do it!
but take a nap.

And thanks for the shout out about the auction;)

Can I tell you how much I hate potty training and about a year afterwards. There was a time we were in Mervyns in the mall in Portland and Fiona needed to go 3 times in half an hour. And she actually had to go each time...and the bathroom was always on a different floor and kitty corner to where we actually were. Little kids...it does get funnier the further out you get.

barb said 'hindsight' ... she probably didn't even catch the pun there ... hee hee

seriously though - girlfriend and fellow mommy, be grateful that your not still dealing with a 3 yr and 11 month old diaper clad stubborn boy {ammon and his lack of desire to potty train may be the death of me} and revel in this time when you can blog about it! because really - like Sister Hinckley wisely said, you can laugh or you can cry ... and crying gives me a headache! love ya! hang in there, it may not get easier ... but you get used to it! ;o)

Don't be discouraged about NieNie Day! The most Nie-ish thing you could possibly do is be a wonderful mother to those two cute kids of yours!!

That was a great story about Henry- of course, much funnier in hindsight and when not happening to you!

Emily,

I have so enjoyed reading other bloggers thoughts and feelings about this tragedy, and yours is no exception. You have such a beautiful way with words and this post is so heartfelt that my eyes won't stay dry. Thank you.

I loved this post. I, too, have been shedding many tears for a beautiful family that I have never met. I feel as if I know them, though. I care about them as if I know them. I pray for them and talk about them as if I know them. I loved your thoughts about what Stephanie would do if she could get up from her bed this moment. I know she would hold and love her husband and children. It's a great inspiration to me to do the same.

Beautiful post.
When people come together in love and for the purpose of healing...it's a beautiful thing.
And yeah, tears come easily.
